Litigation Legal Assistant

I am an only child, raised by a single mother, and I come from a large extended family. I graduated in 2014 with a law degree from La Universidad del Zulia in Venezuela, my home country. Early in my career, I worked for three years as a legal assistant at a car insurance company, gaining practical experience in the legal aspects of insurance claims and procedures.

In 2018, due to the challenging political and economic climate in Venezuela, I moved to Bogotá, Colombia, seeking better opportunities for both personal and professional growth. While waiting for my work permit, I worked various jobs, mainly in the service industry as a waitress, before transitioning into the business process outsourcing (BPO) sector once I was legally authorized to work. Although I was unable to practice law in Colombia, my role in BPO allowed me to work closely with American health insurance companies, gaining valuable insights into the U.S. health insurance system, particularly concerning elderly individuals and those eligible for Medicare. Over the course of six years, I became highly skilled in understanding the needs and perspectives of insured persons, particularly from a legal and customer service point of view.

In February 2025, I joined Shirazi Immigration Law Firm as a legal assistant and intake specialist, where I am now able to leverage my diverse background in law and customer service to assist individuals with immigration matters. My experiences have made me resilient, adaptable, and passionate about helping others navigate complex systems, and I am excited to continue making an impact in the legal field.

My decision to transition into immigration law, and specifically to join Shirazi Immigration Law Firm, stems from both personal and professional motivations. Having lived through significant political and economic upheaval in Venezuela, I deeply understand the challenges faced by individuals navigating complex legal systems in pursuit of better opportunities. My own journey—from moving to Colombia in search of a new life to learning firsthand about the struggles immigrants face—has made me passionate about supporting others in similar situations.

Working at Shirazi Immigration Law Firm allows me to combine my legal background with my personal experiences in a meaningful way. I see this as an opportunity to directly help individuals and families who are trying to build a better future, just as I did. Shirazi’s reputation for compassion, expertise, and dedication to immigration law resonates with my own values, and I am eager to be part of a team that truly makes a difference in the lives of those navigating the often complicated and stressful immigration process.

Additionally, my extensive experience in customer service, especially through my work with American health insurance companies, has given me a unique understanding of the needs and concerns of individuals seeking legal assistance. I believe I can use this skill set to provide thoughtful and effective support to clients at Shirazi Immigration Law Firm, ensuring they feel heard, understood, and guided through the complexities of their cases.

Ultimately, working in immigration law is not just a career choice for me—it’s a way to give back and make a real impact in the lives of those seeking better opportunities and a brighter future.
